Yukon Dispute Resolution Board Member
Hillarie Zimmermann has called Whitehorse, Yukon home for the last 20 years. She is a
mother of two and has raised her sons in the north with her partner Dennis. Before arriving
in Whitehorse, she started her northern adventure in Inuvik, NWT where she spent 4 years
experiencing the beauty of the Western Arctic.
Hillarie works at Yukon University as a communications instructor in the Multimedia
Communications Certificate Program and the Bachelor of Business Administration. Hillarie
also works as an instructor on the Teaching and Learning team where she provides support
to other faculty at YukonU. Before joining Yukon College over 12 years ago, she worked for
Parks Canada as Manager of External Relations and INAC as an Intergovernmental Affairs
Advisor.
Hillarie graduated from Guelph University in 1998 where she obtained a Master of Science
in Rural Planning and Development. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science
from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Recently she obtained a Graduate
Certificate from Royal Roads University in Instructional Design.
Hillarie holds an intense passion for the north and is committed to building a bright future for
all that call this beautiful place home.
